Night at the Lights Concert at Little Sable Point Lighthouse

Artist: Acoustic Oasis

Bring your chair or beach blanket for a concert at the lighthouse! Enjoy a relaxing evening of music with the backdrop of Little Sable and Lake Michigan.

Acoustic Oasis are two good friends. Phil Petersen and Glen Miller have been playing music in West Michigan as Acoustic Oasis for over ten years. They have enjoyed performing living rooms, private parties, college reunions, weddings, farmer’s markets, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wineries, coffee houses, libraries, and even barn parties. You can hear them monthly at The Book Nook and Java Shop in Montague, MI – one of their favorites! Phil’s love affair with playing the guitar and performing started while attending Calvin College as an art student before heading to California to begin a career in retail display and advertising. Phil is from Grand Haven and is married to Eileen. They have two children Scott (Chef Scotty!) and Rob (Margaret) and granddaughter Wealthy. Glen and his wife Elizabeth live in Norton Shores, MI, and enjoy an active life of camping and birding. Glen began his musical career as a band director after attending Michigan State University where he spent many hours playing guitar with friends in the stairwell of his dorm while earning an education
degree. He now works full-time for a literacy non-profit called Kids Read Now. Glen’s love for guitar began at age five when his dad gifted him a small red plastic guitar. His first public performance was playing and singing Down in the Valley for his second-grade class! Glen and Phil met while serving in their church worship band at Covenant Life Church in Grand Haven, MI, where they discovered a similar taste for folk music of the sixties, seventies and beyond. Slowly they have added many instruments to their lineup including 6 string guitars, 12 string guitars, mandolin, ukulele, lap-steel guitar, harmonica, clarinet, and banjo. Their repertoire includes covers from the sixties through today as well as a variety of original works.
